Hey campers! bumble here. Thanks for stopping by! Some of you will be saying, wow, that's a radical career change for a bee, to go from pollen collecting to journalism just like that. And let me tell you it hasn't been without its challenges. But once I got the hang of touch typing (which was no small thing), the rest of it, as they say, is all up here (I'm pointing to my head right now).
I'm just getting started, but the plan is to build bumble's blog into a fantastic place to follow the bumble story, find great recipe ideas, get into (or deeper into) plant-based living, and learn about other great folks trying to make the world a kinder place for bees like me and (frankly) everybody else sharing this planet. It's the only one we've got.
Probably you have some questions right off the top. So, I'm thinking a little Q & A is in order. Sound good? Alright then, let's do this!
So, what is bumble bloom?
Well, bumble bloom is a plant-based alternative to honey, so you can treat it just like you would your favourite honey. Drizzle it on things, put it on toast, bake stuff with it (the baklava is to die for), add it to your tea… use your imagination! Or start with our recipes! It's sticky, it's sweet, it feels good in your mouth. What's not to like? And bumble bloom comes in 4 addictive flavours - Classic, Cinnamon, Cardamom, and Ginger.
Why are you making it?
Great question! I've got a lot to say about the subject, as you can imagine, and I'll talk about it more in future posts, but for now, it comes down to this: With humans eating over half a million tons of honey every year, the world's honey supply is, pardon the pun, spread a little thin. So thin that me and my bee fam are struggling to eat a balanced diet, to say the least. To take the pressure off a little, we decided to offer you all a plant-based honey alternative. Something that's more compassionate and more sustainable for everyone - including the humble bee (see what I did there?).
Because, when you think about it, honey is for bees.
What makes bumble bloom so great?
If you're anything like me, you have a bit of a sweet tooth, but for sure you care about what you put in your body. You're looking to avoid the bad stuff and when you have a treat you want it to be one you can feel good about. I'm all about organic, so I made sure we put nothing but organic stuff in bumble bloom.
Did you know that organic raw cane sugar actually has 17 amino acids, 11 minerals, and 6 vitamins, that you miss out on with the refined stuff? Our apple concentrate is organic, and so's our apple cider vinegar. That's it really. Simple, good ingredients. No surprises. No hidden agendas. No stevia or corn syrup. And we only use organic spices for our flavours - organic true Ceylon cinnamon, green cardamom, and ginger root.
Who's bumble bloom for?
We make bumble bloom for everyone! First things first, it tastes amazing (I have my favourite flavours, you'll have yours, it's all good). We want bumble bloom to be there for people who're being more thoughtful about what they eat, where it comes from, and how it's made. How it fits into the bigger picture. Know what I mean? Like we say around here: Better choices. Better planet. Brighter future.
Who IS this bumble character, anyway?
I'm the bee behind the bee, when it comes to bumble bloom. Well, actually, I'm the front bee as well. Sure, I hired a few pretty decent humans along the way, ones who share my vision of a world safer for bees, with less time on the road, more time to be social with other bees, and an abundant supply of the honey we bees need to survive and thrive. It's only fair - I mean, we make the stuff, right?
